Do More Writing,
More Easefully, and
Sound More Like You
A nourishing space for Women of Color to
plant themselves on the page fully, wholly, and wildly.
Liberate yourself from the rules of writing
Listen to the call on your heart to share your personal stories
Love the voice that manifests on the page as truly your own
You carry dreams of sharing your stories one day in a book, a blog, or even in the content you create for social media.
Yet… the guilt of what you think you should be writing and how it should sound has taken over, leaving you frustrated and stuck staring at the blank page wondering why you quite capture what you know your heart wants to express.
Amidst it all, you’ve lost and forgotten your love for writing.
In the folds of your life, you’ve scribbled away your thoughts in journals or the notes app on your phone.
You love to play with language, the beauty in a turn of a phrase, the melding of two languages to create one, those fun word games you enjoyed playing (mad libs, word search, and more).
You had dreams of getting your story out in the world because you knew you had something to say that had to be heard.
Even as you’ve privately enjoyed the power of language on the page or the way you can use it to communicate the most tender parts of you, when you entered a school environment, writing stopped making sense.
In that space they said…your writing wasn’t very good or that it didn’t make sense.
They slashed your beautiful writing with their red ink and harsh words without taking a moment to simply revere it for what it was communicating about you, your heart, and your mind.
Yet, you kept on, keeping on, privately scribbling away your words on the page.
You kept showing up to the page and trying again, hoping maybe this time, you’d finally get it just right. You’d fit into the spaces you longed to be invited into. You’d finally feel good about your own writing because you did it.
You finally wrote in the way they had expected and you would reap the benefits of doing so with money, degrees, and more.
Now, When You Look At Your Writing, You Wonder…
Where am I? This doesn’t sound like ME.
You got lost in your fight against the patriarchy and the capitalistic systems intent on causing harm and pain to your people.
You proved you were fuckin’ smart, you could challenge them with potent AF words (gathered degrees and certifications to prove it too).
Along the way, you lost yourself because you left behind the stories that gave you access to YOUR unique voice.
I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone and as I’m sure you know, this is how the system works!
It pushes you far from the joy that brought you to writing to begin with.
It pushes you to fight because you’re so fuckin’ passionate about advocacy and making sure people DO something about the problems your people are facing.
The system is also built to make you feel bad for focusing on the kind of writing it deems as "frivolous" because it isn’t connected to DOING.
In these ways, the system feeds upon your fear of being vulnerable, sharing too much, or being wholly misunderstood.
I’m here to help you carefully break out of the space the system built so that you can remember …
You’re powerful…
You make the rules to what you write, how you share it, and the ways it helps you (or doesn’t) with the powerful advocacy work you do.
Because the truth also is, that everything you write doesn’t have to DO something, it can also just be for you. And yes, that's the greatest revolutionary act of love and care you can give yourself too.
I’m here to remind you that you can TRUST the knowing within you, that small bursting form of light waiting to be released which has communicated that you are meant to share your stories.
I’m here to remind you that no matter what you’re worthy of being seen fully, wholly, and lovingly.
This is What We Do in The Writing Corner
We HEAR you, we FEEL you, and we LOVE all up on you, your writing, and your stories.
The Writing Corner is a membership created by and for women of the global majority.
It’s a space for writing liberation where requirements and expectations of writing developed by those in power for centuries, get thrown away, so we can figure out our own unique path to writing and sharing our stories.
It’s a safe place to land where you can finally tell YOUR truth, and place on the page all the stories and ideas just burgeoning within you so that you can finally feel the power of the writing dream project on your heart.
It’s a space that intentionally resists hustle culture at its core.
It’s the soft place you can land, the one that encourages writing from a place of SOUL where you are catapulted into bringing your dreams to life so much faster than you ever imagined.
In our beautiful community, we enter into a sacred and intentional relationship with writing and begin to reclaim the joy, care, and healing it can bring into our lives.
Our Community is Different
Through regular live events and a kick-ass community of WOC you will have the support to show up for writing on your own time and on your terms.
We don’t do word or page requirements and we don’t follow formulas or templates.
We are led by our intuition and our deepest knowing that guides us forward in exploring and playing with our voice on the page in a myriad of ways.
In our community, it’s never about getting it perfect, it’s about getting the writing to be truly your own.
In our space, two things are always true: we can create our own sacred writing rhythm AND create loving deadlines for the writing we want to complete.
Yes, that means listening to your heart and the ways it pulls you forward toward that book, blog, or dream business writing project you haven’t allowed yourself to claim.
When you join the Writing Corner you can feel the possibility of actually writing it because you can finally see yourself wielding your own magical wand to make something truly your own.
It’s time my dear. It’s time to liberate your voice and allow it to be as multifaceted, magical, and powerful as you are.

Hello there my dear, I’m Raquel Corona.
I am a weaver of stories, of worlds that come alive with my pen, my voice, and the electric button of “publish” on my computer.
You, my dear, want to do the same. You want to create stories that get people to SEE you, HEAR you, and finally pay attention to the important message you’re here to share with the world.
I know you because I am you…
You read a lot, you write a lot, you just don’t manage to get to the writing that really matters to you, the one that will culminate in the creation of a dream project such as a blog, a book, a play, or even a kick-ass set of emails and social media posts that get YOUR people to finally listen.
I get it, I’m just like you. I have spent much of my life tied up with all types of writing I signed up to do as part of the various degrees I received and the jobs I’ve worked throughout my career. Time and time again, what has saved me, is being able to lean into a community of writers that supports me in carving out some space and time to write the stories on my heart
However, not all writing spaces or communities are made the same.
I moved through my bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees just hoping I’d find a space that saw me and wholly accepted me. However, as a woman of color it rarely felt quite right there. I was often told by my teachers that my writing didn’t make the mark or that it wasn’t really “good”.
For me, while it was discouraging and didn’t inspire me to improve within the academic space, I knew I was tethered to writing in a way they could never understand. I have been writing since the age of 12. It started with having a diary where I’d pen poems and daily on-goings. Eventually, I would go on to write boyband fan-fiction and personal blogs.
My tender and loving relationship with writing is something that has made it possible for me to move through every difficulty in my life, including my upbringing and all the chronic conditions I’ve navigated as an adult.
Today, I find it to be such a privilege how good it feels to write personal essays on my Substack, send awesome emails to my community, and help women commit to their writing.
I created the Truly Yours Writing Corner as the space I always dreamed of having: a community in which women of color spend more intentional time together writing, and doing it in THEIR own unique way.
In our community you get loving support from others who are committed to writing and you receive a different kind of mentorship and guidance. One that is a nourishing kindness that allows you to bloom and grow into your own.
In our time together, you will find yourself writing stories you’d long forgotten about but capture such unique and important parts of YOU. You’ll feel a powerful sense of momentum that gets you to DO something with what you’ve written.
By the end of our encounter, you will be amazed at how much writing you’ve done AND the creative ways you’ve decided to share it with others.
What The Members in the Writing Corner Have to Say
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Writing is a muscle that needs to be exercised and developed over time. Just dropping in for a month is not enough time for you to expect a huge transformation in a skill that requires consistent effort. It doesn’t need to be HOURS of consistent effort, just consistent and regular over time.
-
Great question! For me, when we gather this is not simply about writing prompts and having you write in response to them. I believe in creating an intentional, kind, loving, and nourishing space where women can lean into a softer way of writing, sharing, and communing with one another. There are no significantly obvious religious or spiritual components included, the word sacred is used as a way to invite people into a deep sense of presence with one another.
-
Sacred Writing Circles are held on the 1st and 3rd week of the month and virtual writing retreats are held in the 2nd or 4th week of each month. The only set date & time we keep consistent for these events is Thursday evenings at 8PM EST for the Sacred Writing Circles in the 1st week of the month. All other dates & times vary. If you can’t attend there is always a recording stored in our Heartbeat Community!
-
Nope! This is why the membership community is called the “writing corner.” You can come in to determine and create your own goals for your writing. Our Story Weavers write in all these forms: blog posts, social media content, email newsletters, drama, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and so much more.
-
This is the perfect space to support you in gathering the courage and support to feel ready to share. Our membership is an intimate space where you’ll have the space to explore these feelings. Come join us, right now is the perfect time to get the support and love you need to feel confident in sharing your stories.
-
If you find that you’re dissatisfied with your experience after your first month in the writing corner and you’ve made a concerted effort to attend events and engage in the community, then you can get refunded the remaining months you already paid for in the quarter (2 months to be exact). Just send us an email at raquel@trulyyourssalud.com and we’re happy to return to you what you paid for.
